Support group members benefit by:

  • Feeling less alone. Group members find that their feelings, fears and hopes are shared by others.

  • Receiving support with diabetes self-care regimens and help members make changes in lifestyle, diet and exercise.

  • Learning from insight and experience of others about diabetes, therapeutic alternatives, or new coping strategies from each other.

  • Accepting information, advice, or constructive criticism from others dealing diabetes may be easier than accepting the same advice from health care professionals.

  • Making it easier to deal with intense emotions since emotional support is based on a common bond with a common disease.

Diabetes Support Group

Hudson Physicians Diabetes Education / Support Group offers information and discussion about diabetes related topics. Together, people with diabetes share their concerns and experiences related to living with diabetes. The support group also provides a forum for individuals coping with diabetes challenges to obtain help and advice from one another, as well as from healthcare professionals.

Hudson Physicians Diabetes Education / Support Group meets the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30 – 8:30 pm in the Pine Room at Hudson Hospital. The meetings are open to the public and registration is not required. There is no fee to attend. For more information please call Sue Kurtz, RN, CDE at 715-531-6800 ext. 4394.

Please call for upcoming meeting dates and times.
