Primary Care Services Awarded Gold

HealthPartners annually recognizes regional medical groups who have achieved high levels of performance in clinical quality, patient experience and affordable care. The 2015 Partners in Excellence awards were presented on November 4th at The Depot in Minneapolis. Ernie Wallin, Clinic Administrator, and Dr. Kevin Helmen, Medical Director, were in attendance to accept the top award in two separate Primary Care categories on behalf of Hudson Physicians.

The first Gold award was for Total Cost of Care and Resource Use, which is a measure of efficiency, intensity and price of care compared to similar primary care providers. The measures for this category included all services and procedures across all sectors of care (e.g.: physician services, lab tests, x-rays, pharmacy, specialists, and hospitals).

The second Gold award was for Optimal Vascular Care, which measures patients with vascular disease (age 18 to 75) who met all four goals: maintain blood pressure less than 130/80 or less than 140/90 for members with a co-morbidity of diabetes, lower LDL to less than 100mg/dl, non-smoker and daily aspirin use. MNCM direct data submitted rates are used to reward for this measure.

As an independent practice group, Hudson Physicians in honored to be recognized by HealthPartners for the clinic’s ongoing commitment to provide the best possible care in Hudson, western Wisconsin, and the Twin Cities metro area.
